A man shot dead a suspected mugger and critically injured his accomplice during a street robbery in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Friday.
A police spokesperson said that based on preliminary investigation two suspected muggers arrived at the scene to rob a man who put up resistance and opened fire, killing one robber and injuring the other.
The Gulistan-e-Jauhar police rushed the casualties to JPMC where the injured was identified as 28-year-old Yousuf, while the deceased could not be immediately identified. The spokesperson said that further investigation is underway. Police refused to share the identity of the brave citizen who neutralised the alleged robbers.
In a separate incident, Azizabad police busted a notorious rickshaw gang after a shootout. The gang comprised four persons, two men and two women, who had stirred up fear in the area. The police spokesperson identified the arrested gang members Arsalan, his wife Zubia Bina, Fahad Khurshid, and Rubina. Two handguns with bullets, mobile phones, cash, and a rickshaw were seized from the suspects.
