Justin Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, has announced a partnership with the No More Foundation to provide resources and support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence as reported by Variety. This collaboration coincides with the release of Baldoni’s latest film, “It Ends With Us,” an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The film follows the story of Lily Bloom, portrayed by Blake Lively, as she navigates a relationship that turns abusive, reflecting the cycle of violence she witnessed as a child.
Wayfarer Studios and No More have created several initiatives to support viewers impacted by the film’s themes. An end card in the film’s credits and a dedicated page on No More’s website offer easy access to resources, including the No More Global Directory, which connects individuals to support services in over 200 countries. Additionally, “The Lighthouse,” a guide for recognizing signs of abuse and finding resources, is available to help survivors break free from cycles of violence.
“We’ve partnered with No More because we want to ensure that Wayfarer Studios projects, specifically those that address domestic and sexual violence and abuse, are made with purpose and the intention to educate, support and ultimately provide resources for viewers who may see themselves via their current situation on screen,” said Baldoni to Variety.
The partnership also includes a social media campaign to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence, and a portion of the film’s net proceeds will be donated to No More. Pamela Zaballa, No More’s Global CEO, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “‘It Ends With Us’ powerfully highlights the complexities of domestic violence and the difficulties around ending it. The film’s release marks an important cultural moment to fuel greater dialogue, awareness, and action.”
Wayfarer CEO Jamey Heath acknowledged No More’s role as a content advisor during the production process, ensuring that the film portrayed abuse accurately and sensitively. Baldoni, in a previous interview with Variety, spoke about the importance of understanding the psychology of abusive relationships and portraying them with compassion and realism.
