QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said efforts were being made to weaken the province through negative propaganda on social media.

"Today, on Independence Day, I invite all the disgruntled people to talk to the government for the interest of the province. Let your state guarantee you a bright future," he said.

CM Bugti urged the disgruntled people to lay down their arms and climb down from the mountains to be embraced by the state. "The state stands with the oppressed."

He said that parliamentarians gathering from all over Pakistan sent a message of solidarity. The chief minister congratulated the Sports and Culture Department and all other related departments for organising the event on Independence Day.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandukhil, Commander 12 Corps Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan and other provincial ministers and parliamentarians participated in the ceremony.

Bugti said that the provincial government would provide technical education to 30,000 youth with the support of the federal government. He expressed these views while addressing the ceremony organised for Independence Day at Ayub Stadium Quetta. The chief minister said he strongly condemned the martyrdom of Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch, who was martyred in a terrorist attack near Khada Kucha area of Mastung. He said that for the sake of this soil, police, levies Frontier Corps (FC) and security agencies had made immense sacrifices. "We have not forgotten the sacrifices of our martyrs, thanks to these great sacrifices, Pakistan will remain prosperous till doomsday," he said.

The CM added that he was happy to see the nation mark Independence Day with full enthusiasm. Bugti continued that the day marked the renewal of the promise that Pakistan would be stablised.

He said that Independence Day celebrations and sports events had been ongoing in Balochistan since the beginning of the month of independence.
