Judicial appointments: SHC appoints 4 additional judges

The parliamentary committee on judges’ appointments turned down the appointments of two additional judges and appointed four others to the Sindh High Court (SHC), Express 24/7 reported Friday.
The decision was taken during a parliamentary committee session in Islamabad today.
The two-day session was chaired by Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari.
Initially, six names were proposed to the committee out of which, four were given an approval to be appointed to the SHC.
The approved judges are Justice Shahid Akbar, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Ahmad Ali Sheikh.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of additional judges for the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and the Lahore High Court (LHC).
