Child's killer disappears after bail expires

HYDERABAD:

Police have failed to trace the man who killed an eight-year-old child by shooting him in a field in Bicho Mirbahar village, Hyderabad. The protective bail granted to the accused by the Sindh High Court in Karachi has also expired.

The minor child - Tahir Mallah was playing with other children in the field when he was shot by accused Agha Zubair. A case was registered by the victim's mother against the accused and his accomplice, Mehmood alias Khanu Mallah. Police arrested Mehmood but Zubair fled and obtained protective bail which expired on Friday.

Despite the expiry of protective bail, the accused has not surrendered himself to the police, and the police have also failed to trace him.

When contacted, sub-Inspector Arsalan Latif Channa, in-charge of Seri Check Post, confirmed that the protective bail of the accused landlord has expired, and no court notice has been received regarding extension of bail.
