Ariana Grande recently appeared on the popular YouTube series "Hot Ones," hosted by Sean Evans, where she faced the notorious gauntlet of spicy wings while discussing her career and upcoming projects. The Grammy-winning singer and pop icon is promoting her seventh studio album, "Eternal Sunshine," which debuted at number one, and her role as Glinda in the highly anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway hit musical "Wicked," set to release on November 22nd.

Grande, known for her resilience and charm, faced the heat with a mix of excitement and apprehension. "I invited myself. I asked, I begged to come here," she confessed, showcasing her enthusiasm for the challenge. As the wings grew hotter, Grande shared insights into her music-making process, particularly highlighting the emotional depth of her song "I Wish I Hated You."

Reflecting on the song’s production, Grande credited producer Ilia for its poignant beat. "As soon as I heard it, I started crying and I didn't know why," she said, emphasizing how the emotional intent guided the music's creation. She explained that the initial beat was so moving that it influenced the entire songwriting process.

During the interview, Grande also discussed the technical aspects of creating emotionally resonant music. She detailed how certain chord progressions and song structures can evoke specific feelings, beyond just the lyrics and vocal performance. "Emotional intention can sometimes inform the music to just fall out how it needs to," she noted, praising her producers for their brilliance.

Grande also opened up about her role in "Wicked," revealing some of the intense and unique experiences during filming. "There was lots of bubble singing which was very high up and I wasn't harnessed, I was just kind of there," she recounted, praising her co-star Cynthia Erivo for her impressive performances. "Watching Cynthia in her harness with a broom, a hat, wig, corset, dress, the whole thing, flipping upside down, singing ‘Defying Gravity’ every take like it’s nothing, was the most phenomenal thing I’ve ever seen."

Throughout the episode, Grande maintained her composure despite the escalating spice levels, earning praise from Evans for her positive attitude. "Your attitude coming into this is incredible," he remarked, predicting a strong performance from the singer. Grande’s resilience was evident as she tackled each wing, even humorously noting that her body was reacting to the cumulative effect of the spice.

As she navigated the fiery challenge, Grande shared a lighthearted vocal warm-up exercise, showcasing her vocal talent even under duress. Demonstrating her warm-up routine, she explained how she prepares her voice throughout the day, starting with simple exercises in the morning.

Fans can look forward to experiencing Grande’s latest musical endeavor with "Eternal Sunshine" and her enchanting performance in "Wicked" this November.
