Eli Roth, director of the 2023 horror film "Thanksgiving," has hinted that Addison Rae may return for the sequel.

Roth, who directed and co-wrote the first film with Jeff Rendell, revealed that the follow-up script is nearly completed.

At the premiere of his new film adaptation, "Borderlands," Roth expressed enthusiasm about Rae’s potential return. "I love Addison Rae," he stated. "We kept her alive for a reason. It doesn’t feel like a ‘Thanksgiving’ movie without Addison Rae."

Although Rae's involvement in the sequel has not been officially confirmed, Roth's comments suggest that the character she portrayed, Gaby, could be making a comeback. Sources indicate that Rae's deal is still pending.

The original "Thanksgiving" film, which grossed $46 million globally against a $15 million budget, featured Rae among other survivors including Gabriel Davenport, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, and Nell Verlaque.

The story centres on a serial killer dressed as a 17th-century pilgrim who terrorizes Plymouth, Mass., during the holiday season.

Roth has confirmed that the sequel will continue the Thanksgiving theme. When asked about the possibility of expanding the franchise to other holidays, Roth responded, “Let’s get the sequel done first.”

"Thanksgiving 2" is scheduled to release in 2025. Roth recently posted on Instagram, “BREAKING NEWS! John Carver will kill again! Thank you everyone who supported ORIGINAL HORROR in theaters!!! Go see it now on the big screen while it’s in cinemas, sequel set for release in 2025! Taking a year to really get the script right, working on it starting today!”
