Rapper T.I. was mistakenly arrested on Sunday night at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport when authorities confused him with another individual wanted for allegedly stalking and threatening a woman with a gun.
According to TMZ, the warrant matched his name, but the description differed significantly; the wanted person weighed 205 pounds, while T.I. weighs about 165 pounds.
Despite the mix-up, T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, has a history of legal issues. In 2009, he served seven months in prison for federal gun charges and another ten months the following year for drug charges, violating his probation.
Since then, he has remained out of legal trouble until this recent incident.
Due to the warrant being issued in a different state, T.I. faced an automatic extradition hearing. However, his lawyer managed to secure his release within two hours, and the extradition hearing was dismissed.
