Snoop Dogg freestyles to 'Gin & Juice' at Paris Olympics with Martha Stewart
Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are making waves at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As two of America's most beloved cultural figures, NBC brought the rapper and lifestyle guru to Paris to provide their unique commentary on the events.
Snoop has had a busy year, touring the Louvre (jokingly calling himself the Mona Lisa's twin brother, Tony Lisa), surprising Stewart with a macaron tower birthday cake alongside Sesame Street's Cookie Monster, and showcasing his custom Olympics pin.
However, their standout moment came when they provided live commentary for the horse dressage competition.
Polish rider Sandra Sysojeva’s performance left Snoop amazed.
In a clip shared by the official NBC Olympics & Paralympics X account, Snoop's 1993 hit "Gin & Juice" played over Sysojeva’s routine, prompting Snoop to freestyle, "Get 'crackin, from the front to the back / With so much drama in Par-is / It's kind of hard being a H-O-R-S-E."
The synchronization of the song with the horse’s movements was perfect, and Martha couldn’t help but laugh as Snoop enthusiastically commented on the performance.
Martha reminded Snoop that "Four feet is a lot harder than two feet," to which he humorously responded by attempting to dance.
Their charming dynamic has made them a favorite duo in pop culture, co-hosting events like the Puppy Bowl and a VH1 series, and supporting each other’s projects.
Snoop’s humor and Martha’s seriousness create a unique and entertaining balance.
Their chemistry was evident when NBC’s Al Roker asked Snoop if he would revisit dressage now that Martha had explained it to him.
Snoop admitted, "Honestly, this is one of my new favorite sports. I didn't realize that I really love the chemistry of the driver and the horse."
Martha added, "He found it very exciting, he really did. We watched about four different riders yesterday, and it was really extraordinary."
Snoop has been giving regular updates from Paris throughout NBC’s primetime coverage.
He previously hosted a highlights show with Kevin Hart during the 2021 Tokyo Games.
For 2024, Hart has teamed up with Kenan Thompson for Peacock's Olympic Highlights show.
Other stars commenting on the Paris Olympics for NBC include Kelly Clarkson, Peyton Manning, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and Jimmy Fallon.
However, Snoop and Martha’s unique dynamic sets them apart.
"I fed the horses," Snoop shared, "and I'm really scared of horses. So for me to do that, I feel like I'm really going somewhere."
Perhaps we’ll see Snoop not just in the commentary box but on the dressage field at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
