Roof collapse in Daska claims three lives
Three people lost their lives and one was injured due to the collapse of a buffalo shed roof in Bana village on Aymanabad Road on Monday.
The shed, constructed with iron girders, bamboos, and wooden beams, could not withstand the recent heavy rains.
According to reports, the incident took place in the buffalo shed owned by Chaudhry Bilal.
The continuous downpour had weakened the roof, causing it to collapse suddenly.
The victims, identified as 32-year-old Bilal, 40-year-old Saeed, and 34-year-old employee Ali Sher, were sitting under the roof when it gave way.
Eyewitnesses and locals immediately began removing the debris in an attempt to rescue those trapped.
Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene shortly after being informed and started a rescue operation. However, by the time they managed to clear the rubble, all three individuals had succumbed to suffocation.
The deceased Saeed and Bilal were real brothers, with Bilal having no parents and Saeed leaving behind a widow and four children.
Bilal, who kept buffaloes, was hosting his elder brother Saeed, who had come to collect milk. They were seated under the shed, chatting when the roof collapsed.
Ali Sher, an employee from Sahiwal who was also present, perished in the tragic incident.
Funeral prayers for the deceased will be offered today (Tuesday) in their native village.
