Following the release of her new album 'Crash' and the announcement of her multi-city headlining tour, Kehlani has been on a positive streak.
However, a recent photo of her with Chris Brown, captioned "Twin," has sparked mixed reactions among fans due to their tumultuous history.
In 2016, when Kehlani attempted suicide, Brown made controversial remarks on Twitter, saying, “There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing s**t for sympathy so those comments under your pics don’t look so bad.”
He further defended his friend Kyrie Irving, which fans found insensitive given Brown's public issues with women.
Critics argue that Kehlani is setting a poor example by associating with Brown, especially as she is known for advocating mental health.
“Kehlani clicking down… you can’t support a serial abuser and be an activist,” one fan commented.
Another fan defended Brown, stating, “Apparently, Chris Brown is the ONLY person in the world who is not allowed to change. He definitely reached out to Kehlani and apologized for what he said in the past; they are cool now. Period.”
Despite no public reconciliation, it appears the two R&B stars have moved past their previous conflicts.
For many of Kehlani's fans, it's difficult to understand why she would reconnect with someone who was so insensitive during one of her darkest times.
