K-P Assembly passes provincial ombudsman bill

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Monday passed the Provincial Ombudsman (Amendment) Bill 2024 while Khyber K-P Zakat and Ushr (Amendment) Bill 2024, Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill 2024, and K-P Police (Amendment) Bill 2024 were introduced in the house.

The Assembly Secretariat Employees Terms and Conditions of Service Bill 2024 was also presented.

The passage of the Provincial Ombudsman (Amendment) Bill aims to enhance accountability in the province. The bill, introduced by Law Minister Aftab Alam, was passed with a majority vote.
