The Sindh High Court issued notices on Monday to the attorney general, advocate general Sindh, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and others in response to a petition challenging the decision to allow intelligence agencies to tap phones.
The court heard the petition, filed by Advocate Abdul Ahad through Advocate Raja Arsalan.
The constitutional petition names the Federation of Pakistan, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Defense, PTA, and other institutions as respondents.
Petitioners lawyer, Advocate Raja Arsalan, argued that permitting phone tapping violates fundamental rights.
