Cops asked to intensify efforts against crime

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi police have been ordered to step up efforts to combat crime and follow case timelines for serious offenses such as robbery and murder. Chairing a meeting at Police Lines Headquarters, Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani Hamdani emphasised the importance of prompt action and efficiency.

The CPO reviewed the performance of each officer and instructed them to establish timelines for suspect arrests and evidence collection in major cases. He underscored the necessity of registering First Information Reports (FIRs) within the 15-minute emergency response window and prioritised timely actions, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.

CPO Hamdani reiterated the need for a swift response to emergency calls and the timely registration of FIRs. He directed officers to ensure legal action on complaints received through the Complaint Management System and to focus on reducing street crime and crime hotspots. Emphasis was also placed on the arrest of suspects involved in crimes against individuals and the timely submission of challans.

The police chief also mandated a crackdown on drug peddlers to eliminate the drug menace from society and called for accelerated actions against wanted criminals in serious cases.
