Joe Jonas to release first single ‘Work It Out’ from solo album: ‘For People Who Believe in Love’

Joe Jonas is prepared to reveal his deepest thoughts to the public.

On Wednesday, July 17th, the Jonas Brothers member revealed that his upcoming solo album, "Music for People Who Believe in Love," will be released on October 18th.

In a press release, Joe, 34, described the album as, "a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me."

"When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment," he added.

"It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about."

He concluded, "This album is a reflection and celebration of life. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it. Please enjoy!"

On Friday, July 19th, Joe will debut the album's inaugural single, titled "Work It Out." He initially previewed the song in a TikTok video he captioned "even the baddies get saddies" back in May.

On July 11th, during an episode of Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast, Joe discussed the genesis of the album, sharing how a studio session with Alexander 23, Justin Tranter, and other musicians resulted in a song.

"I was listening to it, and I was like, 'Damn, I really like this song,' and I was starting to feel like, ‘I don’t know why but I want this song for myself,' not just the [Jonas] Brothers, and I also feel like it’s not DNCE, which is another band I’m in. I was like, 'I don’t know what it’s for, but I know I want to work on something. I feel the pull emotionally to work on music.'"

Before proceeding with the project, Joe, who debuted his first solo album, Fastlife, in 2011, consulted with his brothers Nick and Kevin. "I asked my brothers' blessings," he explained.

"I was like 'I don’t want to call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own, and I don’t feel like it’s DNCE, and I need to go just express stuff for myself.' And they were like, 'Go for it.' Nick booked a movie, Kevin was going to do another season of Claim to Fame, and so I had the window of time."

After receiving their approval, Joe wasted no time and completed the album within 2-3 weeks. "I’m just really excited. It’s the most personal music I have ever put out."
