Will Smith and Johnny Depp yacht together ahead of joint concert appearance in Italy

Will Smith and Johnny Depp are spending time together yachting in Italy before their performance at a concert.

Will Smith and Johnny Depp have been spotted enjoying some leisure time on a yacht in Europe, ahead of their participation in Andrea Bocelli's three-day concert event at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico, Italy. The actors were seen with Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad, who shared a photo on Instagram on July 12. Saad captioned the post, "Great feeling to gather with friends Thanks my friends for the lovely visit @johnnydepp @willsmith @ismailmansour1 #AhmedSaad #jonnydepp #willsmith."

A source informed PEOPLE that Smith and Depp were "together en route to the Andrea Bocelli concert they’re both performing at." Bocelli had initially announced the special event, Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration, in April, but Smith and Depp's involvement was revealed only in early July.

Will Smith was announced as a performer on July 12, with Bocelli expressing his excitement on Instagram: "I’m thrilled that Will Smith will join our extraordinary adventure of the Teatro del Silenzio. It makes us proud to be able to host this pyrotechnic artist, acclaimed actor, producer, and musician."

Johnny Depp's participation was confirmed a few days earlier on July 3. Bocelli praised Depp, writing, "A disarmingly charming actor who has brought countless iconic characters to life on the big screen, this eclectic artist's musical talents are equally intense: a bona fide rockstar loved and applauded everywhere." Bocelli also recalled past musical collaborations with Depp and expressed happiness about their upcoming performance together.

The event, which began on Monday, will continue on Wednesday, July 17, and Friday, July 19. It is being filmed for a global theatrical release by Fathom this fall. Alongside Smith and Depp, the lineup includes Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Jon Batiste, Russell Crowe, Sofia Vergara, David Foster, Christian Nodal, Sofia Carson, Laura Pausini, Tiziano Ferro, Zucchero, Giorgia, and Bocelli's children, Matteo and Virginia.
