Imam Hussain's martyrdom inspires resistance: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) remind humanity to stand against falsehood and oppression.

In his Youm-e-Ashur message, the prime minister emphasised the profound significance of the grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions' martyrdom at Karbala.

Shehbaz highlighted Imam Hussain’s (RA) courageous resistance against Yazid’s oppressive rule, illustrating his unwavering commitment to truth.

He cited the Holy Qur’an, “Do not think of those who have been killed in the way of Allah as dead. They are alive with their Lord, receiving provision” (Surah Al-Imran, 3:169), to underscore the essence of the sacrifices made at Karbala.

Drawing parallels to contemporary struggles, the prime minister noted the hardships endured by Palestinians and the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that their sacrifices for a just cause echo the lessons of Karbala.

Addressing Pakistan’s current economic challenges, PM Shehbaz called for patience, unity, and brotherhood. He warned against forces aiming to undermine social cohesion, urging the nation to embrace selflessness, equality, tolerance, unity, and discipline.

The premier encouraged the people to draw inspiration from Imam Hussain’s (RA) sacrifices, advocating bravery and steadfastness in adversity. He expressed hope that Allah Almighty would guide the nation in following Imam Hussain’s footsteps, advancing Islam and Pakistan, and overcoming all forms of hardship.

Syed Arslan Abedi | 5 months ago | Reply How dare you This clown does not get to say the pious name of Imam Hussain a.s from his filthy and lying mouth. I do not want to say any more intense bad words just because of the respect for that name. He should have some shame as Imam Hussain a.s stood for ideals he vehemently opposes and stood against the likes of him. If this was Koofa this clown would have been one of yazid s monkeys
