Matt Walsh responds to backlash over Amber Rose RNC comments
Matt Walsh has responded to backlash over his criticism of the Republican National Convention (RNC) for giving a primetime speaking slot to Amber Rose, a well-known pro-abortion feminist.
On Monday, the Daily Wire host initially protested the decision, calling it "an embarrassment." He said, "The RNC gives a primetime speaking slot to a pro-abortion feminist and self-proclaimed slut with a face tattoo whose only claim to fame is having sex with rappers. Truly an embarrassment. Not a single voter will be mobilised by this person.”
Following the negative reaction to his comments, Walsh elaborated on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Some thoughts on this Amber Rose thing, since it’s apparently extremely controversial to say that the Republicans shouldn’t give a prime time convention speaking slot to one of the founders of the Slut Walk," he began.
Walsh questioned Rose’s recent support for Donald Trump, noting, “Maybe Rose has totally changed and had some kind of conversion experience. There’s no evidence of that. Only that she likes Donald Trump now.” He warned against rallying around new celebrity supporters, citing past disappointments. “A person who has been wrong about everything up until approximately yesterday morning needs to be learning and listening, not giving prime time speeches at a political convention,” he argued.
Highlighting her recent praise of the Satanic Temple for supporting abortions, Walsh said, “It was just this past March that she praised the Satanic Temple for ‘helping a lot of people’ by making sure they can get abortions. She has not even pretended to disavow that point of view, or any of her far left views, apart from her dislike of Trump.”
In conclusion, Walsh stated, “If it is outrageous and offensive to suggest that a person such as this is perhaps not fit to be a prime time Republican speaker, then conservatism as a movement is in even worse shape than I thought.”
