The King and Queen were swiftly escorted from an open-air expo in Jersey due to a security scare.

During their visit to the Channel Island, Charles and Camilla had to cut short their engagement at Weighbridge Place and were taken to the nearby Pomme D'or hotel.

After about 20 minutes, the King and Queen resumed their activities, meeting local schoolchildren and attending a tea party.

A royal source told the Mirror, "There was a small issue of concern, an investigation turned out to be a false alarm, every precaution was taken and the programme resumed shortly afterwards."

The incident reportedly involved a possible drone sighting, but this has not been confirmed. Local witnesses described the sudden evacuation, with one saying, "They just ushered him out. It's a shame as he’d stopped to chat to us of his own accord."
