Pakistan Women lose the plot again

West Indies take 2-0 lead in T20 series.

Pakistan Women continued their poor form with the bat in the four-match Twenty20 series against West Indies Women, losing their second encounter by four wickets.

Electing to bat first, the tourists were off to an abysmal start as they lost their first two wickets for just 10 runs. Qanita Jalil (19) and Nain Abidi (10) were the only batters to reach double figures as Anisa Mohammed continued her fine form with the ball to finish with figures of four for nine off her allotted quota.

As a result, Pakistan were bowled out for just 65 in the 19th over.

West Indies’ chase of the below-par total was off to a disastrous start too as openers Stafanie Taylor (zero) and Juliana Nera (one) were dismissed in quick succession to leave the hosts tottering at three for two.

Pakistani bowlers made the opposition fight for runs but a vital unbeaten innings of 32 by Stacy-Ann King ensured that the West Indies were able to reach the target in the 18th over for the loss of six wickets.

Jalil, Sadia Yousuf and Nida Dar picked up a wicket each for the tourists but their efforts were not enough to compensate for the poor show put up by the team’s batters.
