ANP clinches PK-22 Bajaur seat in by-poll

The Awami National Party (ANP) has won PK-22 Bajaur by-polls by bagging 11,936 votes.

As many as 12 candidates contested the election on Thursday. The polling started at 8am and concluded at 5pm under strict security arrangements.

According to unofficial results, Nisar Baz from ANP emerged victorious with 11,936 votes while independent candidate Najeeb Ullah Khan remained the runner-up with 10,622 votes. JI’s Abid Khan secured 10,593 votes and SIC’s Rahatullah collected 7,145 votes.

The seat was vacated by SIC’s Mubarak Zeb, who had also won an NA seat and later chose to become an MNA.

With the victory of ANP candidate Nisar Baz from PK-22 Bajaur in the by-polls, SIC failed to keep intact the seat it won on Feb 08 general elections.
