Moot pledges to combat sectarianism

RAWALPINDI:

Religious scholars and officials of the Rawalpindi division and various law enforcement departments pledged to safeguard the divission’s peace and combat sectarian hatred.

They were speaking at a moot organised by the Rawalpindi divisional administration. Speaking at the occasion, Rawalpindi Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak emphasised that strict action will be taken against individuals spreading sectarian hatred and religious extremism on social media. The Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen conference also featured the chief of the Aman Committee of Punjab, Mufti Ramzan Sialvi, as a special guest, alongside Pir Muhammad Usman Noori, Maulana Ali Naqshbandi, Maulana Imran Hanafi, Mufti Muhammad Ikram and Abdul Ghaffar Qadri.

The event was attended by scholars from all schools of thought within the Rawalpindi division.
