Policeman gunned down in Peshawar attack

PESHAWAR:

Attacks targeting police personnel continued on Saturday with unidentified individuals opening fire and killing a police constable in the Pakha Ghulam area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.

Police told The Express Tribune that Constable Ihtesham Khan Durrani, a resident of Pakha Ghulam, had visited his cousin’s residence in Akbarpura, Nowshera along with his friend Umair at 11 o’clock on Friday night.

As he was returning home at around 3 o’clock in the morning, unidentified terrorists attacked him near his home.

According to the preliminary investigation by the police, the deceased had been hit by a bullet from behind. Although he had been posted at the Michni Gate police station, he had been absent from duty for some time.
