‘US Congress should probe cipher issue’

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur has demanded an investigation into the cipher controversy from the US Congress.

During a meeting with a delegation of the members of New York State Assembly and American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee, the K-P chief minister said the matter has created confusion in the political scenario of Pakistan hence, it is necessary to unveil the real facts behind the matter.

He urged the New York State Assembly’s members to play their role in getting the important matter investigated by the US Congress.

Provincial Cabinet’s Members Syed Qasim ali Shah, Faisal Khan Tarakai, Muzammil Aslam, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Additional Chief Secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah and others from the provincial government were also present.

Matters related to promoting state to state relationships between the K-P and New York State came under discussion. Similarly, prospects for mutual cooperation in the different social sectors were also discussed in the meeting.

Both the sides agreed to sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for partnership in health, education, trade, human resource and other important sectors.

It was also agreed on the occasion to initiate nursing exchange and telehealth programs through the mutual cooperation of the K-P government and New York State.

Gandapur said the provincial government has always welcome and appreciated the support of the US government in the different public welfare projects, adding that expending cooperation between both the governments would further strengthen the relationships between Pakistan and the United States.

Touching upon the priorities of his government, Gandapur said the health and education have been the top most priority of PTI government in the province since day one and “we have introduced multiple reforms in these sectors, resulting in significant improvement for the provision of quality healthcare and learning facilities to the people as per their expectations.
