Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings has added his voice to the growing number of Democrats calling for President Biden to step down from the 2024 presidential election.

In an email to The New York Times, Hastings stated, “Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous.”

Hastings’ remarks come in the wake of the president’s performance during last week’s debate, which has stirred agitation among Democratic supporters.

Alongside his wife, Patty Quillin, Hastings has donated over $20 million to the Democratic party in recent years. Netflix declined to comment on Hastings’ statement.

Joining the chorus of criticism, Endeavor chief Ari Emanuel also expressed his frustrations with 81-year-old Biden’s recent performance at the Aspen Ideas Festival.

“Well, I’m pissed off at the founding fathers,” Emanuel remarked. “They had the start date of 35 years old, they just didn’t give us the end date. And, well, everybody died [back then], so they didn’t have to give the end date.”

Emanuel further accused the president’s advisers of concealing the full truth about Biden’s physical stamina and mental acuity.

“I had a father who died at 92, but at 81 I took away his car, and it was a very simple test for me,” he said.

“If you were driving from downtown Beverly Hills to Malibu, would you want Biden to do it at night? Would you want Trump to do it at night? If the answer is neither, you cannot have them running a $27 trillion company called the United States.”

President Biden is scheduled to face the press again this Friday in his first televised interview since the debate, speaking to George Stephanopoulos. ABC News will stagger the rollout of the interview, releasing segments across multiple programs.
