A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Rana Abdul Manan escaped from the court when his interim bail was rejected by an anti-terrorism court (ATC).

A case has been registered against the PML-N MPA under terrorism provisions for his involvement in the attack and violence at Jatoi assistant commissioner’s house on the occasion of wheat procurement.

Police said case 532/24 under Section 380, 459, 109, 7 ATA against PML-N MPA Rana Abdul Manan Sajid was heard in the court of Judge Syed Faizul Hasan of Special Anti-Terrorism Court Dera Ghazi Khan.

President District Bar Sardar Arif Khan Gormani appeared in the court on his behalf.

In the hearing, the court heard the allegation of attack on the residence of Jatoi assistant commissioner by the PML-N MPA and the accused did not join the investigation immediately during the interim bail.

According to the investigating officer, the accused did not provide clarification of the allegations made against him and he joined the investigation a few hours ago, on the night of July 3 and took the unfair advantage of judicial relief.

The court has dismissed the interim bail after hearing the case. According to police sources, the accused had fled from the court before the court order was issued.
