Teenager shoots at lawyer, injures four

Incident causes stampede around district courts

A teenager opened fire on a lawyer at the district courts, injuring four people, including a female advocate.

The police personnel present at the spot apprehended the assailant and seized the weapon used in the attack. The suspect was handed over to the Kotwali police.

As per sources, 17-year-old Afzal harboured a grudge against 45-year-old Advocate Aurangzeb, a resident of Wasiraan.

The boy opened fire on Aurangzeb in a building in the district Kacheri, injuring him.

The shooting also injured 26-year-old Tariq Mehmood, passer-by Arshad and 22-year-old Sughari Bibi, a resident of Mananwala.

The gunfire sparked a stampede among the crowd of citizens and lawyers that had gathered for hearings in the district courts.

The police stated that the suspect had an enmity with the advocate emanating in his village.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Abid Khan sought a a detailed report about the incident.
