Zac Efron sees a lot of similarities between Joey King and the late Matthew Perry.

During a joint interview with Entertainment Weekly on July 2, the Iron Claw actor, 36, praised his “A Family Affair" co-star, 24, for her talent in physical comedy.

“Her stunt — when you walk in the room when Nicole [Kidman] and I are hooking up — it’s one of the funniest things ever,” Efron told the outlet. “I think that was one of the most brilliant physical comedy bits I’ve seen in a long time. That was very funny. Matthew Perry-esque. It was genius.”

King, taken aback by the compliment, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Oh, that’s so nice of you. Oh, gosh.”

In their new Netflix comedy, Efron portrays Chris Cole, a Hollywood star, while King plays his assistant, Zara. The plot thickens when Chris falls for Zara’s mother, Brooke (Kidman), leading to a series of comedic mishaps.

Efron referred to a scene where Zara catches Chris and Brooke in an awkward position after drinking too much tequila. In her attempt to leave, Zara chokes on a grape and hits her head on the doorframe, knocking herself out.

Efron and Perry previously co-starred in the 2009 film “17 Again,” where Efron played the younger version of Perry’s character.

"A Family Affair" is now streaming on Netflix.
