Halle Bailey, nominated twice at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, appeared on the red carpet in a striking backless ensemble, radiating confidence and embracing a new phase of her life.

Before arriving on the red carpet, Bailey discussed her preparation with WWD via email, covering her beauty regimen, mental preparation, and the narrative behind her fashion statement. She wore a black Avellano dress, co-styled by Nicole Goodman along with Bailey herself.

“I love this look tonight it’s very cool and slinky,” Bailey shared with WWD. The star of "The Color Purple" aimed for an effortlessly sexy appearance at the 2024 BET Awards, where cutout dresses were a prominent feature on the red carpet.

Bailey aimed to achieve a blend of "cool and sexy," as she mentioned to WWD. “[I] wanted to wear something that makes me feel great in my own skin especially in this new phase of my life,” she expressed, noting her excitement about the nominations at the awards show. Bailey welcomed her first child, a son named Halo, in 2023.

In addition to discussing her overall appearance, Bailey detailed the essential steps in her beauty regimen. “Hydrating the week leading up to the appearance is a must,” she emphasized.
