David Beckham and Katherine Jenkins sit inches apart at Wimbledon after years of rumored affair

David Beckham and Katherine Jenkins experienced an awkward moment at Wimbledon, sitting just inches apart after years of tension and a rumored affair.

The 49-year-old football legend and the 44-year-old singer have a contentious history, stemming from Beckham's criticism of her receiving an OBE in 2018.

In a leaked email to his advisor, the former England captain allegedly complained: "Katherine Jenkins OBE for what? Singing at the rugby and going to see the troops plus taking coke.’

Classical singer Katherine was awarded an OBE at Buckingham Palace that year for her contributions to music and charity work, including supporting troops on the front lines.

Relations between the two have remained strained, with David reportedly not offering any apology for his remarks.

Recently, they were seated close together in the royal box at Wimbledon, where David is a regular attendee of the tournament.

David's harsh comments came six years after rumors of an affair between them, which Katherine strongly denied on social media.

In August 2012, Katherine wrote on Twitter: "Dear Twitter friends, I’ve read some horrible rumors on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I’ve had an affair with David Beckham.”

“The rumors are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable,” she added.

David also denied the affair. His PR team released a statement to Glamour UK at the time, stating there was "not one jot of truth" to the rumors.
