ISLAMABAD:

A city district court Wednesday directed Shahzad Town police Station House Officer (SHO) to produce a one-month-old baby in court on September 9.

Asma Bibi, a resident of Kotli Sattian in Rawalpindi district, filed a petition with the court contending that her husband forced his way into her brother’s house on August 24 and took her daughter away. She also accused him of snatching jewellery worth “millions” of rupees.

“The baby is too young, she cannot live without her mother at this tender age,” her lawyer argued.

He said that Bibi got married with Muhammad Faisal Satti in October 2010. After the birth of her daughter in July, her husband’s attitude “got worse” and he started beating Bibi, he added.

Bibi said, “He always demanded money and upon my refusal he would start beating me; on August 23 he [kicked] me out of the house.”

She went to her brother’s house in Shakrial along with her daughter.

Her husband came a day later and took the baby by force, her lawyer said.

Additional Session Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti directed SHO Shahzad Town Police Station to produce the infant, Hania Faisal, along with her father before the court on September 9 and adjourned the case.
