RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi police on Wednesday obtained a three-day physical remand of the MBBS student who killed the Vice Principal of Riphah International University. The orders have been obtained to legally investigate Khurram Shahzad who killed Brigadier (retd) Sanaullah on Tuesday.

The investigation officer in the case, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Safdar, had initially sought a five-day custody which was reduced to three days by the Area Magistrate RA Bazaar Muhammad Salam.

According to the police the accused had confessed killing the VP but his confessional statement was yet to be recorded by the judicial magistrate to be used as a piece of evidence against Shahzad.

The killer tried to kill his professors for not passing him in the final examination of MBBS at the Riphah International University which is located at the Peshawar Road.

The student shot his teacher from point-blank range when he was working in his office, killing the VP on the spot. He tried to target other teachers as well who were lucky to survive as the shots missed their targets.
