Princess Eugenie honours Sarah Ferguson for raising scoliosis awareness
Princess Eugenie recently posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Sarah Ferguson, on Instagram in honour of Scoliosis Awareness Month.
Eugenie expressed her gratitude, saying she was "forever grateful" to her mother for ensuring she received the necessary help for her condition. Diagnosed with scoliosis as a child, Eugenie underwent surgery, which left a scar on her back.
As a patron of the charity Scoliosis Association UK, Eugenie has embraced her condition. She proudly displayed her scar in an open-back wedding dress when she married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.
On Instagram, she shared a childhood image of herself with her mother during a school run, captioned: "My mum caught my scoliosis early, and I was lucky enough to get the help I needed at 12 years old."
Eugenie praised her mother for removing the stigma around scoliosis, adding, "She removed all the stigma around having scoliosis for me by confidently showing people what I’d been through." She concluded with, "I am forever grateful and wish everyone to be proud of their scars."
