The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted the first monsoon rain in Karachi starting from July 8.
On Saturday, the city experienced a heatwave with temperatures recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius, though it felt like 48 degrees. It is expected that the inactive sea breeze will fully resume from Sunday.
According to met office, Karachi experienced its sixth consecutive hot and humid day on Saturday, with partial and complete heatwave conditions. The suspension of sea breezes and hot winds from the northeast of Balochistan caused severe heat and humidity in the afternoon.
Chief Meteorologist Karachi, Sardar Sarfaraz, stated, "There is a possibility of rain in the city from July 8 due to the formal monsoon system."

Sardar Sarfaraz mentioned that the low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea had moved further away from the city, reducing the likelihood of rain on Saturday. However, the system's effects may still bring light drizzle in some areas.
On Saturday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 49%. The heat index, which measures the perceived temperature, stood at 48 degrees Celsius.
The Early Warning Centre forecasted that southeast and southern winds, followed by southwest sea breezes, are expected to blow from today. The maximum temperature on Sunday and Monday is expected to range between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
