Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi has imposed a complete ban on swimming in the sea for one month in light of increasing tidal surges. The ban applies to all areas within Karachi's jurisdiction.

The commissioner has issued a notification under Section 144 to enforce the ban, which will remain in effect until July 27.

The notification states that large and dangerous waves are forming near the coast in Karachi, posing a risk to the lives of those swimming in the sea.

According to the notification, local Station House Officers (SHOs) have been authorised to register cases against individuals who violate the ban.
