LAHORE:

Shahdara police claimed to have arrested a group of four friends for staging a fake robbery to cover up a 20 million rupee financial transaction.

The prime suspect, Imran, was due to make a payment of 20 million rupees to settle a financial matter.

Overcome by greed, he devised a plan to keep the money for himself. With the help of his four accomplices, Imran created a fake robbery scenario and reported it to the police.

During the initial investigation, the suspects' accounts of the incident were inconsistent, raising suspicions.

Upon further questioning, the group confessed to fabricating the robbery. Police have registered a case against the suspects and are continuing their investigation.

In a related incident in Mustafa Town, a cash delivery boy for a private company made a fake robbery call in an attempt to steal company funds. Muhammad Irfan, an employee responsible for delivering cash, hid the money in secret compartments of his car and reported a fake robbery.

When police investigated, they discovered Irfan's deception and he was identified as the culprit.

Both cases highlight the lengths to which individuals will go to cover up their greed, but also the effectiveness of police investigations in uncovering the truth.
