In a recent interview with Variety, Matty Matheson, known for his role in 'The Bear', recounted his memorable first meeting with actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who later guest-starred on the popular Hulu series.

Matheson, 42, revealed that their initial encounter at an event left a lasting impression on both of them.

"I saw Jamie at the Golden Globes before she joined us for season two," Matheson recalled. "It was a surreal moment."

Seeking guidance from 'The Bear' creator Christopher Storer, Matheson hesitated briefly before approaching Curtis, 65, whom he admired since childhood.

"I asked Chris if I should say hello, and he encouraged me to," Matheson explained to Variety. His hesitation was dispelled when Curtis enthusiastically recognized him, exclaiming, "I know who the f--- you are! Get over here!"

From that spontaneous introduction, Matheson and Curtis quickly formed a close friendship. "She's such a warm person. She's like our big mama on set," Matheson remarked, reflecting on Curtis's presence both on and off-screen.

He fondly recalled how Curtis's 1983 comedy 'Trading Places' was a beloved family favorite in his youth, never imagining he would one day be texting her as a friend.

While celebrating the release of 'The Bear' season three this week, Matheson hinted at season four's completion and the challenges of avoiding spoilers.

"I haven't seen much of the new season yet," he admitted, emphasizing his eagerness to experience it alongside fans.
