As the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced 487 new members in its Class of 2024 on June 25, Indian directors SS Rajamouli and Rima Das, along with veteran Indian actor Shabana Azmi, were included in the prestigious list.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said, “We are thrilled to welcome this year’s class of new members to the Academy. According to the official Academy website, the list comprises 71 Oscar nominees, including 19 winners. In addition, Trivedi has also won one Oscar and three Emmys, and been nominated for several other awards.
Pahuja’s achievements include her work on the Academy Award-nominated documentary film To Kill A Tiger, as well as the Emmy-nominated The World Before Her, the feature documentary Bollywood Bound, and the three-part series Diamond Road.
