Renée Rapp opens up about new album inspired by her Instagram's Close Friends Only Podcast
Singer and actress Renée Rapp, fresh off her success with her debut album "Snow Angel" and her role in the "Mean Girls" musical adaptation, has revealed that she's already working on a new album. In a candid conversation with actress Rachel Sennott on Instagram's "Close Friends Only" podcast, Rapp shares that the album will be a reflection of her transformative 23rd year.
The two discuss a wide range of topics, from friend crushes and theater kids to astrology, flirting, dating apps, and celebrity crushes. Rapp also delves into her musical inspirations and their shared strategies for managing their "Finstas" (secret Instagram accounts). At one point, Sennott even treats listeners to a theatrical rendition of one of Rapp's songs.
The full episode of "Close Friends Only," which is executive produced by Sun-ny Side Up in collaboration with the Unwell Network, will be available on Thursday across various streaming platforms, including Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Apple Podcasts.
The podcast, designed to foster intimate conversations between notable figures, debuted in December with Doja Cat and Ice Spice as its first guests. Eshan Ponnadurai, VP and global head of marketing for Instagram's parent company Meta, explains that the series aims to bring fans closer to their favorite celebrities and creators, offering a fun and unfiltered glimpse into their lives and friendships.
In an exciting development, the series will go live for the first time at VidCon in Anaheim, California, from June 26-29. Reece Feldman and Storm Reid will have a conversation that will be recorded for a future episode of the podcast.
