5 dramatic ‘Bigg Boss’ contestants
In the high-octane world of reality television, few shows have matched the sheer drama of Bigg Boss, the programme that gave us so many iconic memes. Over the years, we’ve seen a parade of colourful characters whose theatrics have kept us glued to our screens, popcorn in hand. But whatever happened to those drama kings and queens once the camera stopped rolling? Buckle up as we revisit five of the most dramatic Bigg Boss contestants and where life has taken them since their unforgettable stints in the house.
1. Dolly Bindra
Known for her iconic dialogue “Baap pe mat jaana,” and confrontational behaviour on the show’s fourth season, Dolly Bindra was prone to getting into - let’s call them heated debates - whether it be about her co-contestants daring to request eggs for breakfast, or engaging in disputes that were marginally more rational.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Dolly who usually opts to stay out of the public eye, resurfaced last year to reveal she is now living in Dubai, having opened her own company named, Dolly Bindra Events Management.
2. Arshi Khan
Arshi Khan, the glittering tornado in the Bigg Boss universe was known for her unabashed opinions and flair for theatrics. Arshi made every eviction night in Season 11 a spectacle. Her journey through the house was as unpredictable as her fashion choices, leaving viewers both entertained and bewildered. Love her or hate her, you couldn’t ignore her magnetic presence on the screen.
Earlier this month, Arshi revealed to Zee News she was supposed to get engaged to an Afghanistan cricketer later this year. She confessed that the match to the cricketer - whose name she chose to withhold - was made by her father, but due to the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, they may have to end the relationship. She also revealed that the next match her father chooses for her will most likely be Indian.
3. Pooja Mishra
Pooja Mishra became an internet sensation due to a viral clip from the show’s fifth season where she engaged in a heated altercation, leading to the now-iconic line, “Pooja, what is this behaviour?” and dramatically throwing a dustbin. This moment has since become a popular meme and catchphrase, cementing her place in pop culture.
Most recently, the Hindustan Times reported that Anil Kapoor, host of Bigg Boss, reacted to the viral clip, saying he would not tolerate this kind of behaviour while he is on the show. Pooja is actively engaged in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry as an actor and model. She is also a video content creator on Instagram with over 81,000 followers. In addition to her entertainment ventures, Pooja has been embroiled in multiple legal and personal controversies. She has made various allegations and filed police complaints against prominent Bollywood personalities, as reported by multiple Indian news organisations.
4. Imam Siddique
Actor and stylist Imam Siddique was thrown out of the Bigg Boss house in Season 6 after he had a big fight with participant Aashka Goradia. Imam also wore a skin-coloured body suit, which he started stripping after a while. Strange. This (understandably) made everyone very uncomfortable in the house.
Imam remains active in various domains. He is currently involved in fashion styling and casting direction, which aligns with his professional background before his stint on Bigg Boss. Imam has been vocal on social media and continues to maintain a presence in the entertainment industry. Most recently he wished his followers “Eidul Azha Mubarak” on Instagram, his account labelled as an AI Artist. He also occasionally appears in interviews and at events, sharing his insights on fashion and television.
5. Rakhi Sawant
Over the years Rakhi Sawant has appeared in many seasons of Bigg Boss, competing in both Season 1 and 15, due to her entertaining and controversial personality. From revealing her husband to the audience for the first time in the Bigg Boss house, to her feelings for Rubina Dilaik’s husband and fellow-contestant Abhinav Shukla, Rakhi has always been surrounded by controversies, inside and out of Bigg Boss.
In a concerning turn of events, Rakhi has been facing significant health challenges. Recently, she underwent surgery to remove a large tumour from her uterus. Her ex-husband, Ritesh Singh, had been providing updates on her condition, noting that the surgery was successful but that she needs to rest due to related health issues. The actor occasionally shared health updates on her social media and explained to fans that she is out of the woods. She is now back to posting her fashion looks on Instagram.
