Shanna Moakler has revealed her use of the weight-loss drug Mounjaro to manage her weight after a period of intense grief. The former "Meet the Barkers" star shared her story in an interview with People published on Monday.

Moakler, 49, opened up about the impact of losing her parents last year, starting with her mother Gail in January 2023, followed by her father John seven months later. “I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s–t,” she admitted.

“I was so devastated, and I missed my f–king mom and dad. I was like, ‘I’m going to f–king eat the pain away.’”

The reality star’s situation worsened when paparazzi questioned her about her ex-husband Travis Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, being rushed to the hospital during her pregnancy complications.

“It was on another level, and I didn’t know how to deal [with it],” she continued. “I was sad. And I just missed my parents so much.”

Moakler, who was married to the Blink-182 drummer from 2004 to 2008, started using Mounjaro earlier this year and began to feel more like herself again, although she did not disclose the amount of weight she lost.

“I don’t think anyone has a clue about who I am,” she said. “I’m more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart. Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f–king ass off to get,” she added, also referring to her ex-fiancé, Oscar De La Hoya, with whom she shares a 25-year-old daughter, Atiana.

Moakler also has two children, 18-year-old daughter Alabama and 20-year-old son Landon, with Barker. Despite being a critic of Barker’s new family, she remarked, “I also don’t have to like the f–king Kardashians, and I’m honestly sick of talking about them."

Reflecting on her personal growth, she stated, “As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f–k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”

Despite her disdain for the Kardashians, Moakler continues to discuss them on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast. She alleged that Barker and Kim Kardashian had plans to “f–k” while he was still dating her sister, Kourtney, which the rocker has denied.

In May, during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” Moakler criticized Barker as a “narcissist” and acknowledged her inability to compete with him as a parent.

“But I gave up, I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago,” she said. “I was like, ‘You win. Like you’re the winner.’”
