SOPHIE's record label is putting out new music from the late artist. The posthumous album, titled "SOPHIE," includes a track featuring Kim Petras.

Sophie Xeon, a pioneering trans musician and producer, tragically passed away at 34 in 2021 after slipping while climbing to view the full moon.

SOPHIE's record label, Transgressive, and management company, Future Classic, have revealed that new music is forthcoming in the form of her first and final posthumous album. This new album was produced by the late artist and Benny Long.

According to a press release, the artist was nearly finished with her upcoming album before her tragic passing. This posthumous project has been called "the final SOPHIE album release."

The new album will feature the collaborative track "Reason Why" by SOPHIE, BC Kingdom, and Kim Petras, which was released on June 24.

On the release date of the new single, Kim Petras announced it on Instagram, sharing the album art from the upcoming album, titled "SOPHIE."

On the same day, SOPHIE's label announced on Instagram that “it only feels right to share with the world the music she hoped to release, in the belief that we can all connect with her in this, the form she loved most”.

SOPHIE's final album, the Grammy Award-nominated "Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides," was released in 2018. However, very little new music has been released since her passing.
