Man, woman found dead in Bin Qasim Park pond

Police clueless about unidentified bodies

KARACHI:

The bodies of a man and a woman were found in a pond at Bin Qasim Park, Clifton on on the second day of Eidul Azha within the Boat Basin police jurisdiction.

Upon receiving information from the park staff, Boat Basin police arrived at the scene and immediately summoned the Crime Scene Unit. The bodies were retrieved from the pond and sent to Jinnah Hospital for legal procedures before being transferred to the Chhipa mortuary due to their unidentified status.

According to SHO Boat Basin Inspector Naseer Tanoli, the bodies appeared to be one or two days old, with marks indicating they had been partially eaten by insects. The pond contained toxic water, and initial reports from the MLO suggest that drowning was the cause of death for both individuals. No identification items were found with the bodies. The police have collected evidence from the crime scene and have begun searching for the deceased's relatives.
