
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) issued alert on Sunday to all relevant department about rains and thunderstorms in upper parts of the province during the Eidul Azha holidays.
It also informed the public to keep away from under construction buildings, advertisement hoardings and electric poles during the forecast period, from Tuesday till Saturday. It advised all the relevant departments to stay alert for restoring road links for traffic in concerned districts.
Meanwhile, the PDMA Punjab said that the weather remain extremely hot and dry in most parts of Punjab from June 16 to 18, while there were chances of gusty winds and thundershowers in most of the districts of the province from June 18 to 22.
“Rains are predicted in South Punjab during June 20-22 period,” the PDMA said. PDMA chief Irfan Kathia said that people must keep the weather situation in mind while preparing for Eidul Azha. He instructed the rescue organisations and district administrations to remain alert during the Eid holidays.
Separately, the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Early Warning Center forecast a hot and humid weather in Karachi throughout the three days of Eidul Azha. It said that the maximum temperature in the city was expected to range between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
