Joe Alwyn confirms mutual decision with Taylor Swift to keep relationship private
Joe Alwyn revealed in a recent interview with The Sunday Times Style that he and Taylor Swift intentionally kept their relationship private.
The 33-year-old actor, known for his role in "Kinds of Kindness," shared with the publication that he and the 34-year-old singer-songwriter agreed to keep “private” the “details” of their romance while they were dating.
"As everyone knows, we together — both of us, mutually — decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private,” Alwyn said. “It was never something to commodify and I see no reason to change that now.”
“And, look, this is also a little over a year ago now and I feel fortunate to be in a really great place in my life, professionally and personally. I feel really good,” he shared.
When asked by the publication if he's heard Swift's latest album which fans think may be connected to the couple's breakup — Alwyn said, “In thinking on what I was going to say, I would think and hope that anyone and everyone can empathize. … This isn’t a direct answer to your question, but just thinking about what I want to talk about."
The actor also did not share whether he is still in touch with Swift or seeing someone new, citing his previous high-profile relationship with the Grammy winner.
“I’m sure you can appreciate, given the level of noise and scrutiny about my past relationship, why I wouldn’t want to just open the door to things like that right now,” Alwyn told the Times.
