Buckingham Palace announced King Charles III's cancer diagnosis on February 5, followed by Kate Middleton's own diagnosis on March 22.

The two royals reconnected publicly for the first time in six months at the 2024 Trooping the Colour in London, England, standing side by side on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The Princess of Wales and the monarch waved to the crowd and enjoyed the festivities, including the iconic appearance of the Royal Air Force.

This marked their first public appearance together since revealing their cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Their last public appearance was during the royal family's Christmas Morning Service at Sandringham Church on December 25.

Concern grew in January when Kensington Palace announced on January 17 that Kate had been admitted to The London Clinic for planned abdominal surgery.

Shortly after, it was revealed that Charles would seek treatment for an enlarged prostate, ultimately being admitted to the same clinic on January 26.

Before his surgery, King Charles paid a visit to Kate, showing the warm bond they share. "He absolutely adores his daughter-in-law," a source told ET.

"He thinks she is a wonderful mother and has done a remarkable job with her devotion to her work on behalf of the monarchy."

Both were discharged from the hospital on January 29, but their health updates continued.

On February 5, Buckingham Palace announced Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.

On March 22, Kate revealed her own cancer diagnosis, explaining that post-surgery tests found cancer, leading to "preventative chemotherapy."

Kate provided an extensive health update on June 14, stating she would undergo treatment for "a few more months," but expressed optimism about attending The King's Birthday Parade and other public engagements over the summer.

"I am not out of the woods yet," she cautioned, highlighting the ongoing nature of her treatment.
