Bandits steal Rs10 million in daylight robbery

Robbers plundered cash, foreign currency, jewellery and other valuables worth millions of rupees during a house heist in a private housing society in the Rawat police limits on Monday.

Five robbers wearing T-shirts and trousers similar to the uniforms of the government department stormed into the house of property developer Malik Majid, took the family members at gunpoint and searched all portions of the residential property.

The suspects looted over Rs5m cash, 500 British pounds and 25 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs6m. They also took the DVRs of the CCTV cameras installed in the house.

Majid told the police that he dealt with the construction and property development. The suspects came to his house by a car. One of the robbers' accomplices stayed outside and kept a vigil. The victim alerted the police soon after the suspects left. Cops reached the spot and gathered the necessary evidence.

Saddar SP Nabil Khokhar and Rawat SHO Muhammad Zulfikar also reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.
