King Charles is reportedly eager to play an active role in his grandchildren's lives.

According to a royal insider, the King is not content with the current lack of a relationship with Prince Harry's children and is determined to be present in their lives.

Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's move to Montecito, California, in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, their relationship with the Royal Family has been strained.

The release of Prince Harry's memoir ‘Spare’, their Netflix series, and various interviews have further complicated matters.

However, sources told the Mirror that the King, following his recent cancer diagnosis, is "keener than ever" to focus on family and "make up for lost time."

The insider stated, "He values family above everything and whatever the course of his relationship with his son he would never be content with just seeing his grandchildren on the odd video call."

Royal author Ingrid Seward echoed this sentiment in her book ‘My Mother and I: The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen’, noting, "It is a great sadness to him he doesn't see more of Archie and Lilibet."

King Charles resumed public duties in April and continues weekly cancer treatments. Harry briefly returned to the UK upon learning of his father's diagnosis.
