‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ achieved a global box office milestone by surpassing $100 million in its opening weekend, as reported by Variety

The fourth installment of Sony's beloved buddy cop comedy series, featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, grossed $104.6 million worldwide, with $48.6 million coming from international markets. 

Despite initial concerns stemming from Smith's controversial incident at the 2022 Oscars, audiences eagerly embraced his return to the big screen, especially with a franchise that has spanned over three decades.

Sony invested $100 million in production costs for ‘Bad Boys 4,’ along with significant marketing expenses to attract global viewers. The film's strong debut suggests promising prospects for its theatrical run, although its ultimate success compared to the previous installment, ‘Bad Boys for Life,’ which earned $206 million domestically and $426 million globally in 2020, remains uncertain.

Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, ‘Ride or Die’ follows detectives Mike and Marcus as they uncover corruption within the Miami Police Department. When they become fugitives following a setup, the duo must navigate outside the boundaries of the law to crack the case. Smith also served as a producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, who was involved in the franchise's preceding three films.
