The likelihood of Jeremy Strong returning as his beloved Succession character Kendall Roy seems highly unlikely.
In an interview with People Magazine, the actor discussed the potential for HBO to resurrect the celebrated series, which concluded with its series finale in May 2023.
“I'm sure there's a desire for more [Succession],” remarked Strong, aged 45. “I would really pass that buck to [creator] Jesse Armstrong."
"But I think in terms of the role that I played, he came to his terminal point," he added. "So for me, that’s something that is very happily put to rest.”
In his portrayal of Kendall, the ambitious son of patriarch Logan Roy, who engaged in a power struggle with his siblings for dominance within the family's media empire, Strong earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series in 2020.
In the series finale of the show, Kendall discovered that he would not be appointed as the new CEO of Waystar Royco.
After Succession concluded, Strong has appeared in the Broadway rendition of An Enemy of the People, based on the 1882 play with the identical title.
